Nordic EdTech Forum – N8 is one of the partners of Erasmus+ project Entre-MWB focused on the mental health wellbeing of entrepreneurs. This project’s partnership involves three universities, two small and medium enterprises, two associations and two social enterprises from countries such as the United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, Lithuania and Estonia.
Entre-MWB started its activities in January 2021 and will continue until December 2023, when it delivers self-help and self-supportive training materials to young and wannabe entrepreneurs, existing vocational programmes and will add value to the already existing business start-up support.
As a part of this project’s activities, N8 planned and organised a dissemination workshop activity involving Velbi, a company aiming to prevent burnout in working environments. This workshop took place on November 30th at XcitED in Helsinki, Finland, targeting the participating entrepreneurs. In this workshop, N8 presented the Entre-MWB project’s mission, and Velbi shared practical tips on preventing burnout with the audience.
Motivations behind Entre-MWB project
According to Michael A. Freeman’s study (2015), close to half of entrepreneurs suffer from at least one mental health issue during their lifetime. Additionally, entrepreneurs are more likely to suffer from depression, suicidal thoughts, substance abuse, and others. These numbers were vital to the World Economic Forum’s discussion in Davos, 2019. The main topic of the debate was the lack of mental health support of entrepreneurs despite their visible economic benefits to societies around the world.
The conversation in Davos became the essential motivation for creating the Entre-MWB project with its goal to answer the needs of entrepreneurs around the world. This project is developing with time, and the final product will correspond with the current needs of entrepreneurs in the partners’ countries.
We want to thank XcitEdD for letting us be a part of their pre-program activities and to Velbi, who enriched and supported the dissemination activities of the Entre-MWB project.
