Nordic EdTech companies get organized to bring education to the 21st century

Education startups from Nordics and Baltics joined forces to provide access to great education for everybody, globally by 2028.

According to Märt Aro, the newly elected President of N8, approximately 300 million children do not have access to education today. “Regarding the ones who do, do we teach the things that need to be taught in the 21st century? Do we teach the best way? EdTech can work miracles in supporting schools to achieve better outcomes for everybody”, stresses Aro.

EdTech companies joined forces to create awareness about the possibilities of innovation in education amongst educational institutions, decision makers, parents and other stakeholders. In addition to making learning more engaging, startups in education are also working with solutions for supporting children with special needs.

N8 elected a new board to improve the EdTech ecosystem in the New Nordics. In addition, country chapter presidents were elected for each of the 8 countries. With this, the organisation is aiming to improve collaboration between Northern European countries and the EdTech companies for the development of education.

N8 has established a dialogue with the European Commission, OECD and other strategic partners. It will continue collaboration with national governments, hoping to inspire them to join forces for improving learning experience and enabling access to education for everybody.

N8 brings together founders of education innovation companies and evangelists from 8 Northern European countries: Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania. The main reason why Ernest Jenavs and Märt Aro initiated the N8 movement in 2016 was to share experiences between EdTech founders and to support each other in tackling issues in education.
